Legend of Fir Tree Decorating

I adore Christmas and everything associated with celebration of this holiday. Preparation of gifts, decoration of fir tree and everything around….oh oh how I like it. But do you know where the tradition to decorate a tree springs from? It is from Germany that nowadays we have our traditions, images of Santa, fir trees, songs, etc. There was a legend about a monk from Devonshire who came to Germany to teach the Word of God. He used a triangular shape of fir trying to describe the Holy Trinity of God. Then people began to consider the Fir as God’s tree and idolize it. The custom of decorating trees was introduced in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1842 and till now we adore this tradition and wait for this holiday with reverence.

Books - Better Listening or Reading

Some people prefer reading books more than listening. I listened to books only once when I tried to learn Spanish. It’s convenient really. You don’t need to take a book with you and ruin your eyesight. Recently when I was looking for information about religion and spirituality for my grandma I have found so many audio books that now when I am driving a car I listen to Dean Koontz. For me it’s the optimal variant as usually I have no time to read but like reading.
